I was on a gig just this last weekend where I found out that one guy pretty much assembly the stage himself the night before which kept him there in the wee hours of the morning. This was a concert stage pieced together in squares and on the legs. All of the pieces are fastened together during assembly. He even put ups an 8x8' drum riser for me to perform on.
So, at the end of the night, after most everyone left, I stuck around and helped him tear down the stage and move it to the down...

Hi all,

New drummer here, about 3 months since I started.

I have a Stage Custom kit in a small space, and I have been having some issues with sound. I have my kit tuned for low resonance, but it seems that my toms have this awful flat sound to my ears, it sounds ok if I use my focusrite monitor, but I am wondering what I can do to maybe improve the sound when I am jamming without the monitor. Here is a photo of my setup. Maybe I could get some tips from you more expert drummers?
thanks in...

I want to share an absolutely unique experience with a percussionist from Brazil . I've never been on a drummers forum. So this is an interesting place to present this
The player from Brazil was Rubens Bassini. A super cool dude. He was well liked both personally and musically/ having played with Brazil 66 Sergio Mendes and later with Deodato and later doing session work in NYC.

I've mentioned this in the past to other musicians but never felt satisfied with the explanation
I kind of doubt...
