It requires a wrench to adjust the hardware and bears some similarity to the Ludwig Butcher's Block drum sets of the 1970s. This snare was listed in the equivalent of Craigslist in my home city. Listed as a vintage 14 x5 1/2 Gretsch USA snare. I checked with a Gretsch group on line who advises its a reissue from around 2010/2011 and thats why there is no "USA" on the badge. The owner wants $500 AUD ( about $360USD ) I don't really need another snare but if its good quality and a good price , why not ? What do any of you think ? the Gretsch experts inc jda?

I own a number of Yamaha kits. I was aware of this series, but content and happy with what I have. No gear envy, etc.

This weekend, I got to hear, and play, a set of Club Customs. They were tuned wide open, coated heads top and bottom. Sounded very big, warm, and woody (30 deg bearing edges + Kapur = ).
I am a guitar player but I have had a set of drums for the past 20 years. I have never been great at the drums (because I never practiced much) but I can keep a beat and play some simpler stuff.

2 weeks ago I saw in the local classifieds a set of DW Collector's Series drums for a really good price, so I bought them. The set is a 6-piece including the snare. I joined the forum looking to get into drumming and for getting advice. I don't see a lot about DW drums on here...

Does anyone know what's going on with Drum Craft Drums? They had just launched a cool Tailor Store option to customize Series 8 kits, and Conn-Selmar was the North American distributor. Recently, I've heard rumors that Drum Craft may have folded or lost Conn-Selmar? But I've also heard that they are still available.
